Your group can charter a trolley or train for a
very reasonable rate. It makes the perfect school field trip, and
hundreds of children from throughout Southern California visit with
us each year. Charters normally consist of rides on two different
trolleys, a train ride on our mainline, and a guided tour of the Museum
grounds (allow 2 to 3 hours).
Charters are offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays and
Fridays from 9 am to 1 pm. Note that in the summer months (June through
September), all weekday trolley operations must
be completed by 11:45 am due to electric power restrictions. Although the
grounds remain open until 5 pm year 'round, mornings make the
best time to schedule a visit during the summer months because of cooler
temperatures.
Due to staffing considerations and other activities
at the Museum, certain days are not available for charters. 30 days
advance notice is required for reservations, and you can arrange a
charter for almost any size group.
Charter Rates:
School Groups: $5.00 per student (through
high school), minimum charge is $150.00 (30 students). Adult supervision
of at least one for every six students is required, and these adults are
included in the minimum charge. Additional adults are $7.00.
Adult Groups: $7.00 per adult, $5.00 per
child under age 12. Minimum charge is $210 (30 adults).
Terms & Conditions:
Advance payment is required. Your charter is not guaranteed until
the deposit is received. Deposit amount: minimum charge or
one-half the total price, whichever is greater. In order to expedite the
payment process, we would appreciate the balance due to be in one form
of payment (we will accept cash, checks or credit cards). Sorry, but we
do not accept purchase orders. The balance due above and beyond your
deposit must be paid upon your arrival for the charter. All equipment is
subject to availability. OERM reserves the right to substitute equipment
for all operations.
Cancellation Policy: A
full refund will be issued as long as you notify us more than 72 hours
prior to the charter. If cancellation is received less than 72 hours
prior to the charter, no refund will be issued. Rain policy: In
case of rain, or the possibility of rain, call the Museum at least two
hours before your scheduled charter time and confirm the local weather
conditions. We do not recommend visits during heavy rain. If you do not
call, we assume your coming, so your deposit will not be refunded.
Food: You can
bring your own picnic, but please by advised that alcoholic beverages
are strictly prohibited on Museum property.

Parking is always free.
